“Low and Slow”

The owner of this local barbecue stand arrives every day at 5:30 a.m. to fire up the big Southern Yankee Barbecue smoker with red oak logs.  The smoky smell always greets me as I drive up to my office across the street.  I’ve gotten in the habit of picking up a pound of pulled chicken for dinner on my way home from work and using the leftovers in an amazing smoky chicken and kale soup the following day.
